The Ormskirk Catenians Association Circle 285

Building Faith and Friendship to Foster a Supportive Catholic Community

About Us

The Ormskirk Catenians are devoted to strengthening Catholic values and supporting each other in friendship and faith. Established with a vision to serve Christ through fellowship, we provide spiritual and social support to Catholics in in West Lancs Deanery, Archdiocese of Liverpool and worldwide…

Briefly put, The Catenian Association is an international brotherhood of Catholic men who meet socially, at least once a month, at local branches or ‘Circles’. If you would like to have the opportunity to meet other Catholic men and to build a lifelong friendship with both them and their families; if you would like to be part of a caring environment, then come and meet us and see how we can enrich your lives and how you can enrich ours.

Faith

Our Catholic Faith is the bedrock of the Association. Each year we have a President’s Mass which is a celebration of both our faith and family, normally followed by a family meal or barbecue. We also have an annual Mass for Vocations and Clergy Dinner where we say thank you to our local priests, Retreats and other spiritual occasions.

Friendship

We are an international Brotherhood of some 10,000 members in the UK, Australia, Africa, Malta, Ireland and India. Our friendship is not just that gained by dining and enjoying social bonds, but by caring for each other in sickness and in health, by caring for our Widows and by helping those of our membership who have suffered by misfortune. We have a Benevolent Fund for those in need of help and a Bursary Fund designed to help young Catholics seeking to help others.

Family

Our families are important in our Association, supporting and sharing friendships in a variety of social events from dining together, Pantomime trips, family days, barbecues, walks, boat trips, coach trips, treasure hunts and many other activities. We are a family organisation gaining much of our strength through sharing time together.

Fun

Our Catholic Faith is the bedrock of the Association. Each year we have a President’s Mass which is a celebration of both our faith and family, normally followed by a family meal or barbecue. We also have an annual Mass for Vocations and Clergy Dinner where we say thank you to our local priests, Retreats and other spiritual occasions.
